Portfolio Day Reflection

Immediately before all the portfolio reviewing, Amelija, Tess, Josh, and I ate at a cheap, tasty Chinese restaurant. My stomach now full and satisfied, we walked to the portfolio day grounds. The building was large and impressive and our first human contact was from the helpful security personnel telling us where we were to go. The next order of business was to write down our personal information at a table and finally we were able to inspect the spacious view with an innumerable amount of artists.

Due to the fact that I brought no art to show, I remained with Amelija to help her find schools and pass the time of waiting in lines. She ultimately was reviewed by only one school, VCU, which was somewhat anticlimactic. Essentially what was taken away was that she needed drawings from observation, that of which we already knew, and we were not given feedback on the art she presented. I enjoyed the day nonetheless of having it been like the lines for rides at disney world but without the rides. For me, the fact of having a good meal in my stomach, lots of time to think, and the endless show of people to stare at, was what satisfied me throughout the day.
